On the morning of July 1, Zhong Jue, Professor of Central South University, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and the first female academician in China's mechanical engineering field, was awarded the "July 1st Medal". On the same day, Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, President of the People's Republic of China, and Chairman of the Central Military Commission, presented the medals to the exemplary individuals who received the "July 1st Medal".
Over the years, Academician Zhong Jue has served as a final-review expert for the HIWIN Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award, providing long-term support for the award evaluation and forming a deep bond with it. During the reviews, with her profound academic expertise and rigorous, pragmatic scholarship, she strictly oversaw the selection of doctoral dissertations from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, valuing both theoretical innovation and industrial application value, and making positive contributions to the cultivation of mechanical engineering talent and the development of the discipline.
Academician Zhong Jue's receipt of the "July 1st Medal" is both a noble commendation of her lifelong dedication to science, technology and education, and an inspiration for more scientific and technological workers to scale new heights in science and pass the torch to future generations.
